Christmas! It’s a favorite time of the year for children. There is so much to celebrate and enjoy—trees, lights, decorations, cookies, goodies, and gifts! But what is Christmas? Who started this holiday and why do we celebrate?

This year at Liberty’s VBS, we will ‘become part of the story’ of the very first Christmas. Join us as we meet shepherds, villagers, innkeepers and strange-looking kings from far-east lands. Gift giving takes on a new meaning, celebrations involve armies of angels, and those least welcome in society become most important.

During our time travels to ancient Israel, we will meet the One who invented Christmas. He has many names: Emmanuel, Savior, Yahweh Saves, Son of God, Holy One. For us, He is Jesus, the Author of Christmas.
