April 15 Inspiration

From Tayna Karn, Youth Ministry Director

As inconvenient as this time may be for all of us, I encourage you to think about the college students in our church family. Most of them have now been moved out of their dorms and have had to say goodbye to their friends and classmates, unsure of when and if they will be back this school year. I had the privilege of video chatting with a few of them and asked how they were doing with this sudden transition.

One of the things I love so much about the youth at Liberty is their love for each other. Even after graduating high school and going off to college, sometime across the country, these kids still have such a deep love for each other.  I spent about an hour listening to these students tell their stories about college and share some of their frustrations with having to move out of their dorms or come home early from study programs. They all listened to each other and shared encouragements, reminisced about their days in youth group, and planed a virtual Bible Study during this time of social distancing.

I encouraged them to share their favorite Bible verses that they have currently been leaning on, and I wanted to share some of those verses with you, too:

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

“So, we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” 2 Corinthians 4:16
