Deacons
Deacons traditionally have done a mix of care and service ministries throughout the years at Liberty. We continue to elect deacons to serve three-year terms. Elections are during our annual meeting.
Deacons in the Care Ministry Team do things to support our church family like visit the sick, help with memorial services, or accompany those who are grieving. Deacons also have the opportunity to work with our Welcome Team to show hospitality to our church members and guests, especially on Sunday mornings.
VISITATION
Our dedicated care volunteers serve alongside our Care Ministry staff, which includes an Associate Pastor for Adult Ministries, a Care Coordinator, and a Parish Visitor.
Individuals, not just elected deacons, can serve by going on visits, delivering meals, or sending cards.
BEREAVEMENT
Liberty hosts funeral/memorial services for church and community members and seeks to offer Christ’s comfort.
We have an all-volunteer Bereavement Team which assists with these services. They show up early, prepare bulletins and a visitor book, and help with seating and receptions.
If you would like more information, email Liberty’s Care Ministry Team or call 740-548-6075.
GRIEFSHARE
Liberty hosts GriefShare sessions in support of those mourning lost ones or struggling with heartbreak. We all grieve in different ways and on different schedules, but we believe God can heal us. For information, contact our Care Coordinator, Amy King.
