“…Mary gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7

“THANK YOU! This is such a blessing for this family right now. I just talked to the mother and she said they are checked in, and that someone from the front desk had been waiting with her name. She said she got into a room with a king bed and pull-out couch.” ~Community Resource Coordinator in Delaware

FROM THE DESK OF PASTOR KYLE

Dear friends,

As I reflect on the year, I am filled with joy to be a part of this generous community of faith. I got a note from a colleague who works with another community organization here in Delaware. She had been working with a local family who had been evicted from their home less than a week before Christmas and couldn’t get into a shelter until later in the week. She called me saying that she had called all over town, trying to find some way and somewhere to house this family for a few days.

Because of your generosity, Pickle Jar stepped in and was able to provide a warm, safe place for this family to sleep. Imagine being in this family’s position: embarrassed, scared, exhausted, desperate. Someone has told you to go to a local hotel, and that a church you have never been to will cover the bill. The woman behind the counter greets you by name and explains, “We’ve been expecting you. Everything is ready and taken care of.”

It’s in moments like this that the light of Christ shines so brightly from this church. At Christmas time, a family finds room in an inn, and experiences God’s grace because of your generosity. Thank you for all you give to Liberty. Your gifts are truly making a difference!

Grace and peace,
Kyle
