I recently returned from vacation. It was a wonderful time to spend time with family. But most of all, it was a chance to get a new perspective. Coming back after a time away, I have been able to see things more clearly and see things as if with new eyes. Whatever I’m seeing now may be new to me, but it was always there, waiting to be discovered.
Scripture works this way, too.
Whenever I come to a story, even one I know by heart, I find that God is always able to speak to me in a new way. There is always a new perspective to consider, always something new waiting to be discovered. Sometimes a different translation helps me discover something new. Though at other times, new perspective simply comes by slowly absorbing every word in full.
But always, God is speaking directly to me, refreshing my soul.
So, here’s a thought for the week:
How do you find new perspective in the Bible?
How are you being led to new discoveries about God through Scripture?
Grace and peace,
