July 15 Inspiration

From the Desk of Tanya Karn, Youth Ministry Director

The past three and a half months have been difficult for a lot of us in the world. Whether you have been unemployed, working from home while trying to homeschool, or working on the front-lines, everyone has had a new routine to learn and been made to adjust. I will admit that I have let the difficulty drag me down more than I would like. There has been one thing that has helped bring me joy and see the positive side to all this time at home: Harvey.

It has been a lot of fun literally watching my son grow before my eyes.

When this started in March, I had a little 10-month-old baby who was not yet crawling and eating primarily bottles throughout the day. I now have a 13-month-old toddler who is on the verge of walking and is already eating me out of house and home. R. H. and I have gotten to watch him learn to crawl, get his first tooth, learn to climb the stairs on his own, grow into his personality (he’s a trouble-maker like his dad), and so much more; a lot of “firsts” that we may have missed. What a blessing it has been! Besides just making my mommy-heart glow, it has reminded me to be thankful for each day, because it is a day that the Lord has made.

“This is the day the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psalm 118:24
