From the Desk of Jan Hasting, Administrative Assistant

“Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

                                                      –Psalm 46:10

Hello, my name is Jan, and Psalm 46:10 is my favorite Bible verse.

“Be still and know that I am God!”

This has brought me peace and clarity throughout many difficult times. This verse reminds me to slow down and to remember that everything is in God’s hands. There is so much peace to be gained by finding some quiet time to pray and grow closer to God.

A Prayer by Thomas à Kempis (c. 1380–1471)

Write your blessed name, O Lord, upon my heart, there to remain so indelibly engraven, that no prosperity, no adversity, shall ever move me from your love.

Be to me a strong tower of defense, a comforter in tribulation, a deliverer in distress, a very present help in trouble, and a guide to heaven through the many temptations and dangers of this life.
