Welcome to Children’s Ministry

Children’s Sunday School Program

The goal at Liberty Presbyterian Church is to allow children to grow in Christ and thrive with His love in a very fun and exciting Sunday school program. Prayerfully consider volunteering for this awesome ministry.

Nursery and Toddler childcare is offered for our services. Pagers are available.

Wee Ones (birth up to 3 years old): Our Nursery/Tot room (Lower Level Room 102) lovingly cares for our precious ones each Sunday. Our youngest ones will find comfort in baby swings or in the gentle arms of our caregivers. We are well stocked with multi-sensory toys and activities to engage each age group. A simple message is taught each Sunday that focuses on Christ’s love in action. The room opens 15 minutes prior to the start of worship.

Our Sunday school program offers exciting activities for children ages preschool through grade five.

Bible Builder’s Preschool and PreK: These classes present simple Bible truths in a fresh, interactive setting that capitalizes on a child’s need to experience life with all their senses! Children grow in Bible knowledge through such activities as: interpretive music, simple crafts, exciting games, creative snacks, and special story time. Our curriculum focuses on helping young children learn how to know, love, and follow Christ. Classes are dismissed from worship following the pastor’s Children’s Moment.

Faith Journey Workshop (Kindergarten – 4th Grades): This unique Sunday school program allows children to understand Christian truths in exciting ways! Age groups rotate through workshops in science, cooking, computers, art, drama, and theater, which teach major Bible stories and concepts in multimedia settings. Faith Journey Workshop is a wonderful tool for making the Bible come alive for Liberty’s children. Classes are dismissed from worship following the pastor’s Children’s Moment.

C.I.A. – Christians In Action: The fifth grade students have a more intensive study of the Bible with an exciting hands-on lesson format. The children will find verses in the Bible, read aloud Scripture, and grow in their faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. Mission outreach increases at this age, with a focus on local missions. The class meets at 10:00 a.m. in Carriage House Room 201. Classes are dismissed from worship following the pastor’s Children’s Moment.

Other programs:
  • VBS (Vacation Bible School): Every summer, for one week in the mornings, during the month of July. Our unique program, unlike any other in the area includes classes, crafts, music, drama and games on a Biblical theme. Strong outreach emphasis.
  • Special Events: Palm Sunday Processional, Easter Egg Hunt, Rally Day, Children’s Choirs, Prepare-the-Way Day, as well as the annual Christmas Pageant on the second Sunday of December.
