High School Mission Trip 2019

June 8-14

We will be working with:

Praying Pelican Missions

Helping reach the people in Chicago through:
  • Genuine partnership,
  • Long-term relationships, and
  • Sustainable ministry.

Why Chicago?

In the Windy City of Chicago, our mission trip team will find a variety of opportunities to serve people of all walks of life. The many faces we will encounter need to see and feel the love of Jesus in a real way. Whether helping to encourage a local nonprofit organization or assisting a local pastor, our Chicago mission trip will bring a breath of fresh air to Praying Pelican Missions’ partners who pour themselves into their ministries daily.

Who Can Attend?

Anyone in 8-12 grade who has been involved in the Liberty Youth Program. Friends may attend if they are committed to attend the team meetings.

The Leadership team will consist of adults from our congregation. This team, lead by Tanya Karn, will be made up of experienced leaders, as well as some new leaders. All leaders will receive a federal background check prior to the trip.

We will be housed at churches in the community. We will be sleeping on air mattresses on the floor. Because of the size of our group, we will likely be in two churches. However, we will still be sharing our meals and providing for our community life together.

We will travel to Chicago, IL in rented vans driven by our leaders. These vans will also be used to transport us to and from our worksites. We might also be renting a cargo van to transport our gear and to help with materials on site.

The cost of the trip is $495 per person. This cost, along with money from the mission committee and our fundraising money, will cover the cost of transportation, our lodging, possible construction materials, the chaperones’ expenses, food and fun.
