What is Neon?

It is one of the Noble gasses. It is odorless, colorless, and the fourth most abundant element in the universe. It is found in the creation of stars, and scientists now believe stars have their red/orange glow due to neon. Neon begins by liquifying air and extracting the electric gas element from air.

This Noble element is a creation of God. Neon is the only element that shines brighter than any other and can be seen lightyears away. It shines brightly in the darkness. Darkness has never been able to overcome neon light.

Christ says we are to “let” our lights shine. In other words, when you get right with God and are filled with the Holy Spirit, He will simply shine through you. God is the light that shines within and through His church as the light of the world. The same word the Bible uses for light in Matthew 5 to describe Christ’s Church also describes Christ Himself in John 8:12. Jesus Christ’s “Sermon on the Mount”, tells us to be of salt and light. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

How do we teach children to be the Light of the World?

When we accept Jesus’ Light, we shine His Love. His Light is:

N – Never Ending

E – Eternal

O – Omniscient

N – Never Failing

Christ says we are to “let” our lights shine, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and let His love shine through us! Let’s be NEON for the world!

This summer we will explore the Light and learn how we can be the light for others in the darkness!
