Ways to Give

Go to the TEXT function on your phone.
Instead of selecting a name, Type 73256. In the message line type, “Libertybarn 1”. (Please type exactly as shown and include the space.) Press SEND.
You may receive a message back, such as: “Messaging would like to send a message to 73256: Press SEND”.
The TEXT you receive will include a link. Depending on your phone either touch the link that appears on your screen OR touch the star icon to connect to Liberty Church’s secure online connection.
Touch the dollar amount ($3.00 minimum) on your screen and enter your desired donation.
Standard text message and data rates may apply.

**NOTE: For the first transaction, you will need to set up the account by entering your name and the credit card information with which you would like to use for your donation.**

Touch GIVE on your screen to complete the transaction.
You will receive a TEXT verification and receipt for your donation.

If you use your bank’s online bill payment process, did you know that you can use it to make regular or single payments to Liberty?

Simply login to your bank account on your bank’s website and access your online bill pay system. Set up a new Payee for the Church:

In the payment Memo field, enter “General Fund”.

Using your bank’s online bill pay, you can set up weekly or monthly payments and have your contributions automatically sent to Liberty.

If you are 70-and-a-half-years-old and you have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you are subject to the “required minimum distribution”.

If you contribute some or all of the required minimum distribution directly to a charity (like Liberty Barn Church), it will not count as taxable income. (“Directly” means having the funds transferred directly to Liberty without them going through your bank account).

While this type of donation does not count as taxable income, it cannot also be claimed as a tax deduction.

An example of the benefit:

• Assume you have a 25% tax rate.
• If you decided to give $6,000 in any calendar year and paid it by check (all at once or periodically), you would need to withdraw $8,000 from your IRA to donate $6,000 to Liberty (the other $2,000 for taxes).
• However, if you transferred $6,000 directly from your IRA to Liberty in a calendar year (all at once or periodically), you can meet part of your “required minimum distribution” and use the extra $2,000 for other purposes.
  The maximum limit on this kind of giving is $100,000 per calendar year.

If you shop at Kroger, you can support the church simply through linking your Kroger Card to Liberty. Each month, a percentage of your Kroger purchases are contributed back to Liberty’s General Fund at no additional cost to you.

New members can enroll by searching for either the new number or the name of our church. If your Kroger Plus card is already linked to Liberty, this is just a reminder to check your account online to verify that Liberty Barn Church is still listed as your preferred Community Rewards recipient.

If you have not linked your Kroger Plus card to Liberty Church as your preferred Community Rewards recipient, then please follow the instructions below:

1. Have your Kroger Plus Card handy (or plan to sign up for a new one digitally).
2. Go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards
3. Choose “Create Account”.
4. Follow prompts to create account and register your Plus Card with it:
   1. Enter your preferred email address.
   2. Pick a password.
   3. Pick your favorite store.
   4. Click on the orange “Create an Account” button.
5. On the next page, it’ll let you add your Plus Card. If you know your card number, or your alternate ID (usually your phone number), enter it, along with the last name associated with the card. Click on the orange “Save” button.
6. The next screen will be “Your Account Summary”. Scroll to the bottom and edit the Community Rewards.
7. Enter Liberty’s organization number, JR138, and hit “Search”.
8. Click on the circle left of the church name to highlight it.
9. Hit “Enroll”.
